State of Florida Rebates in April
Florida offers 20 percent rebate off the retail price of a new qualified ENERGY STAR® appliance.

Rebates only apply to the purchase of the appliance, not to delivery or installation costs. Rebates shall be available only for the following ENERGY STAR certified appliances and products: clothes washers, refrigerators, dishwashers, room air-conditioners, freezers and gas tank-less water heaters for personal residential use. This program is available to all Florida residents through a mail-in rebate application while funding is available and will launch April 16, 2010, and conclude April 25, 2010.
You may replace more than one appliance. Customers may receive rebates on the purchase of one of each type of ENERGY STAR appliance per address. The limit on the total rebates one household may claim is $1,500.
JEA has expanded shopsmart, our ENERGY STAR® appliance program, to include rebates on ENERGY STAR refrigerators, clothes washers, dishwashers and room air conditioners. Each appliance is eligible for a $25 mail-in rebate at participating stores in the Jacksonville area.
The JEA rebates are in addition to any existing store or manufacturer’s rebate and the State of Florida rebate program. Mail-in rebate forms are available at the store of purchase. JEA customers qualify for one rebate per home for each type of appliance.
Taking steps toward making your home more energy-efficient can save money on your monthly energy bill. With JEA’s rebate programs, you can save two ways; first when you purchase an energy-saving product and again when you use less energy each month.

Refrigerators
Click here for rebate form. Replacing a fridge made before 1993 with a new ENERGY STAR qualified model you can cut your related energy costs in half. In addition to saving you money, many ENERGY STAR qualified refrigerators come with innovative features such as precise temperature controls and advanced food compartments to keep your food fresher, longer.
Clothes Washers
Click here for rebate form. New ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washers use less than a third of the energy — and less than half the water — of models produced just 10 years ago. That means you’ll save money on your utility bill twice!
Dishwashers
Click here for rebate form. Cleaning up with an ENERGY STAR qualified dishwasher uses 31 percent less energy and 33 percent less water than using a conventional machine while delivering superior cleaning performance. Still wash dishes by hand? Surprisingly, washing dishes with an ENERGY STAR dishwasher can save money on your utility bill and get your dishes cleaner than hand washing.
Lighting Fixtures
Look for the ENERGY STAR® on all types of light fixtures, including table and floor lamps, ceiling fixtures, pendant fixtures, recessed cans, and more. And look for JEA’s instant, in-store $10 rebate toward the purchase of any ENERGY STAR lighting fixture requiring pin-based light bulbs.

Room Air Conditioners
Click here for rebate form. If every room air conditioner sold in the U.S. were ENERGY STAR qualified, it would prevent 1.3 billion pounds of greenhouse gas emissions - the equivalent emissions from 115,000 cars. ENERGY STAR qualified room air conditioners use at least 10 percent less energy than conventional models and often include timers for better temperature control, allowing you to use the minimum amount of energy you need to cool your room. A mail-in, $25 JEA rebate is available in participating stores toward the purchase of an ENERGY STAR Room AC unit.
Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs (CFLs)
Between five percent and 10 percent of your home’s monthly energy bill goes toward lighting. You can reduce that spending by switching from incandescent bulbs to compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs. Look for JEA’s $1.50-off rebate coupons and mark-down price stickers for the purchase of a wide variety of compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) including twist-style equivalents for 60, 75, and 100 watt incandescent bulbs, reflectors, floods, vanity lights, ceiling fans, 3-way, candelabra-based, and others.
Solar Energy
With JEA’s Solar Incentive Program, we pay you an incentive for investing in a solar water heating system because you’re also making an investment in the environment. The benefits of solar water heating include a high return on investment, especially when building your home; pays for itself in five to seven years; you receive an incentive immediately and you can expect a lower electric bills and higher energy self-sufficiency.
